In "Him was life and the life was the light of men.
And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness
did not comprehend it.
That was the true light which gives light to every man
coming into the world.
As many as receive Him, to them He gives the right
to become children of God, to those that believe in His name:
who were born, not of blood,
nor of the will of flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

For "God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world through Him, may be saved. He who believes in Him
is not condemned, but he who does not believe is condemned already,
because he has not believed in the name
of the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world,
and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For everyone practicing evil hates the light
and does not come into the light,
lest his deeds should be exposed.
But he who does the truth comes to the light,
that his deeds may be clearly seen,
that they have been done in God."

He "who comes from above is above all,
he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth.
He who comes from heaven is above all."

This "is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you,
that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in the darkness,
we lie and do not practice the truth.
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light,
we have fellowship with one another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ His son cleanses us from all sin."

The "thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.
I have come that they may have life,
and that they may have it more abundantly."
